Tech Story #6: Why it's called Arduino
Arduino was born in 2005 at a design school in Ivrea, Italy (IDII) as a cheap, simple, open-source board; it is named after the Bar di Re Arduino, where founders met — itself named after Arduin, King of Italy 1002–1014.
Arduino. Ever wondered where that name comes from? 🤔
📍 Italy, 2005: a design school in the town of Ivrea.
🎓 Students needed a cheap, simple board to build their projects.

But where did they meet to plan it? A bar! 🍷 Bar di Re Arduino ("King Arduin's bar").
👑 Named after Arduin of Ivrea, King of Italy from 1002 to 1014!
