Explained Simply #15: what is 5G, really?
Radio like 4G, but with wider channels, higher frequencies and many small antennas — more data at once, shorter range per mast.
What is 5G, really? Just faster radio? 📶✨
📡 5G is still radio waves — just like 4G. It's the 5th generation of mobile networks.
🛣️ The big trick: wider lanes. A 4G channel is at most 20 MHz wide; a 5G channel is usually up to 100 MHz, so much more data fits at once.
🌊 Higher frequencies have more free room… but they travel less far and walls block them more.
🎯 So 5G uses many small antennas that aim beams right at your phone.
⚡ Less waiting too: about 10–20 ms instead of 30–50 ms — games feel instant!
