Myth or Fact #9: "Using your phone while it charges is dangerous"
MYTH with a good charger and cable; the real danger is cheap fake chargers.
Is it dangerous to use your phone while it charges? 📱🔌 Verdict: MYTH!
✅ THE SAFE PART: with a good charger and cable, it's safe — phones are built for it. A charge controller inside watches the current and the temperature. Look for a safety mark on the charger: UL (USA) · CE/UKCA (Europe/UK) · BIS (India).
🌡️ WHAT REALLY HAPPENS: the phone gets a bit warmer and charges slower, because the charger's power is shared — some charges the battery, some runs the screen and chip. That's normal.
❌ THE REAL DANGER: cheap fake chargers, broken or frayed cables, and charging under your pillow (the heat can't escape).
Good charger, no worries!
