Myth or Fact: charging overnight kills your battery
MOSTLY MYTH: the phone stops at 100 %; heat and sitting at 100 % age it a little (many phones now pause at 80 %).
"Charging your phone overnight kills the battery." Myth or fact? 🔋🌙
❌ MOSTLY MYTH! Your phone has a charging chip. It charges fast up to about 80 %, slows down, and at 100 % the current stops. No overcharging.
🔥 What really ages a lithium-ion battery: HEAT (keep it below about 35 °C) and sitting full at 100 % for hours. That's a little wear each night, not a battery killer.
✅ The fix is already in your phone: turn on Optimized / Adaptive charging. It waits at 80 % and finishes just before you wake up. Keep the phone cool while it charges — not under a pillow or blanket.
📌 Overnight is fine. Heat is the real enemy.
